SISTERS UNCUT Occupy

Activist group, Sisters Uncut, reclaimed the visitors’ centre of the now-closed Holloway women’s prison site in North London in response to the crisis women who have suffered domestic violence are and are feeling failed by the state.  The group demand that the government uses the land to support survivors of domestic violence and the local community.  Having secured the site after a 10 hour stand-off with Police, the women transformed the previous space of state violence into a welcoming sanctuary and held a week-long community festival.
