Queer and Trans people of colour have populated the area of Christopher Street Pier on the West side of Manhattan for over 50 years. Historically, they would meet, socialise and cruise; seeking refuge and a community away from harassment and persecution in the city. This series was taken at New York Gay Pride in 2015. There, found along the water was a microcosm of a QTPOC community, in segregated celebration away from the mainstream malaise of glitter and corporate gay mere blocks away.
